– Eartha Kitsch has been documenting her own ranch house restoration at her blog Ranch Dressing and she’s recently dealt with some horrific plumbing problems as well as nightmarish encounters with unskilled contractors. Her posts are well worth a read if you’re considering (or in the middle of) your own vintage home restoration. But be forewarned! Her posts aren’t for the faint of heart.

– The 5th Annual Tiki Car Hop is taking place this coming weekend on Sunday Sept. 2nd at the Forbidden Island Tiki Lounge in Alameda, CA. The Eichler newsletter has an update and more information can be found at the official Tiki Car Hop site.

– If you’re in or near London you might want to consider visiting Ealing’s PM Gallery and House where they’re hosting an Eames exhibit “Addressing the Need: The Graphic Design of the Eames Office” Sept. 14 – Nov. 3. More information about the exhibit can be found at the Design Week blog.
